Simply
put, my statement of faith begins with Genesis 1:1 and includes
every word through Revelation 22:21, as I believe the Bible
is the inerrant Word of God.
The
triune God ¾ Father, Son and Holy Spirit ¾ provides the only
way through His grace for our redemption of sins: the act of
Christ on the cross.
The
very idea that the Creator of this universe would design me
and breathe an eternal life into my body, then provide the means
for my salvation despite my inherent sinful nature, is humbling.
I have done nothing to deserve the salvation He has provided.
When
He saved me from eternal damnation, through the miracle of Jesus’
work on the cross and His resurrection, He gave me the gift
of His Holy Spirit as a guide for life and interpreter of His
Word. His Spirit fills my life with meaning. He compels me to
obedience and creates a joy in my soul. This joy is so real
that I desire to proclaim the risen Savior to everyone I come
in contact with, as He gives me guidance to do so.
God
caused the words to be written in the Bible so I believe them.
I trust His Word for Truth and means for living. His Word, in
tandem with the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, is working through
me daily to perfect me, to make me more like Himself, to keep
my thoughts focused through His directives.
I
am an immature Christian. I learn more each day about the miracle
of re-birth and to be honest, the more I study the Bible, the
more I realize the little I do know and fully understand. I
have a long walk ahead of me, but I am confident that as I am
able to grasp more about Him, He will reveal more and more of
Himself to me. (He who began a good work in me is faithful to
complete it.)
I believe
in God. I believe He is all-wise and I trust Him with my life
to do with it whatever will give Him the most Glory.
